Child and Grasshopper

A child went out to the meadow

Searching for the grasshopper

For the child knew that the grasshopper would know the answer

From sunup to sun down, the child explores 

Under stones, through the grass, over the hills

But no grasshopper could be found

Mother calls, time for bed

The child falls asleep more determined than ever

As the moon shines, the child dreams

Grasshopper dances about

Dance with me Grasshopper invites, 

The child plays along while the music leads into the morning

Rise and shine, another day has appeared

And where is Grasshopper now? 

The child is crazy with imagination

Remembering all the places of yesterday that were searched, 

Remembering all the joys of dancing through the night, 

The child smiles and sits in the warm sunlight

Eyes closed, the child touches inward, hand over heart!

Ahhhh yes! There is the answer, it was here all along!

Feeling, Breathing, Sitting in Stillness

Grasshopper’s steady beat, hops in rhythm with the heart’s own pulse

As if to say, I am here, you are safe, together we can dream, dance and dare greatness!
